Описание: Manpower shortage is a growing challenge in the intermediate and long-term care (ILTC) sector where the need for trained care workers to deliver quality and holistic care is critical. The study by Lien Foundation, 2018 has reiterated these challenges in recruitment and retaining trained staff to continuously engage residents’ physical, cognitive and psychosocial needs living in a nursing home. Consequentially, many clients in community care settings spend significant waking hours lacking in meaningful activity participation and engagement. Particularly for clients with dementia, this is a greater challenge due to their cognitive and behaviour changes.

To address these rapidly escalating care demands, Dexie the World 1st Humanoid robot is deployed to the ILTC sector to deliver the multi-component therapeutic programme. This Humanoid-enabled Therapeutic and Activity encompasses 4 core functions: 1) Psychomotor Exercise 2) Multi-tiered cognitive games 3) Music and movement Sing-a-longs and 4) Dementia Friendly Conversation. This ground-breaking innovative therapeutic intervention programme has improved clients’ cognitive performance and well-being as well as generated productivity gains by augmenting the manpower resources.
