Video created for the Suzuki ALL GRIP - AUTO - SELECT - PRO group, but it concerns the four-wheel drive systems - we check the operation of LOCK mode when the Hill Descent Control system is engaged. For those who are not familiar - HDC only works in lock mode, the factory speed is set to 10 km/h and cannot be changed. By watching the 4WD coupling operation parameters, we can observe that the system maintains the control current at a level of ~0.82A quite stably, nothing special happens there. In the further part of the video there's a small experiment - downhill descents in AUTO and LOCK mode (gearbox in D position, off-throttle, HDC off) - we can observe that in the initial phase of the descent (when the control current of 4WD coupling is the highest), the car accelerates minimally slower than in AUTO mode when coupling is open. The video is also interspersed with several climbs on a road covered with loose stones, you can see the LOCK and AUTO mode operating parameters (uphill with stable speed and accelerating).
26 - driving downhill - HDC ON
31 - driving uphill - LOCK mode
58 - driving downhill - HDC ON
29 - driving uphill - LOCK mode
07 - driving downhill - AUTO vs LOCK, HDC OFF
