Aluminum is the second most widely used metal whereas UBC (Used beverage cans) is the most recycled consumer product in the world. The biggest benefits of recycling UBC is it saves 95% of the energy compared to making new aluminum through mining, refining and smelting processes.
A typical UBC recycling process include following steps:
1. Shredding& Crushing: use shredders and crushers to reduce UBC into small sized pieces;
2. De-coating: use continuous carbonization furnace to remove the surface paint;
3. Melting: melt the de-coated aluminum pieces in the furnace;
4. Casting: the molten aluminum is made into ingot.
The aluminum ingot is a raw material which can be turned into any aluminum based products.
As you can see, size reduction (shredding and crushing) is an essential and primary process in the whole UBC’s recycling process. In this demo, we will show you the Aluminum cans shredding and crushing line.
