Hello!
Hope you enjoyed our short summary of the Slí na Finne. Here’s some more information about it, and links to everything else we’ve made about this trail:
Slí na Finne was our third trail in Donegal, and the second section of the Slí Dhun na Ghall we walked. As a loop, the easiest places to start/end the trail are either Fintown or Cloghan, two small villages about half way through either side of the route. The walk is named after the river Finn, and the Finn glacier valley that it runs through.

○ TRAIL DESCRIPTION ○
● Official length: 51km
● Start/end points: Finntown or Cloghan (looped walk)
● Trail difficulty: 4/5
● Trail Quality: 3/5
● Views/area: 3.8/5
● Day 1: Fintown - Cloghan (c. 20km)
● Day 2: Cloghan - Just outside Finntown (c. 25km)
● Day 3: Final c. 5km into Fintown
○ Camping/Accommodation ○
● This trail is very weather dependent for camping as a lot of the land is marshy/bogland. There are some remote sections that would be suitable if you managed to be there on a dry day (we did not).
● We stayed at MeadowSweet AirBnB, 5km south of Finntown and right on the trail. Can definitely recommend it to other walkers!
● Airbnb seems to have the most accommodation options along this trail:

Cloghan: https://www.airbnb.ie/rooms/25915490?...

○ Public transport ○
There are two small villages on this trail - Fintown and Cloghan
● Local Link Donegal is a regional small route bus service that connects many small villages and towns, and is great for getting around affordably. We took a local link from Ardara to Fintown, after walking the Slí Cholmcille. Finishing the trail, we took the local link from Fintown to Glenties. More info: http://locallinkdonegal.ie/
