The Metro Manila Subway, also known as the Mega Manila Subway or Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP), is a massive underground rail system currently under construction in the National Capital Region, set to be the first full subway in the Philippines.

Route: Stretches approximately 36 kilometers, connecting Valenzuela City in the north to NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City in the south, with a future extension to Bulacan's New Manila International Airport. It will pass through major areas including Quezon City, Manila, and Pasig.
Purpose: Designed to address severe traffic congestion in Metro Manila, reduce travel time, lower carbon emissions, and improve connectivity between residential, commercial, and transportation hubs.
Features: The system will have 17 stations (15 underground, 2 elevated), with modern amenities like platform screen doors, air-conditioned trains, and accessibility features for persons with disabilities. It is also being built to withstand strong earthquakes.
Timeline: Construction began in 2019, with partial operations targeted to start in the mid-2020s, and full completion expected in the coming years. Funding comes from a mix of local government resources and official development assistance from Japan.
