Why can't you finish your art? Simple steps to overcome mental block

Описание: Hi everyone, in this video watch as I sketch a few different portraits (each 20min interval) and share with you why is your art never done as well as steps to complete your artworks. The challenge of not completing art is universal and not merely tied to one's skill level. It is a mental challenge that happens frequently to everyone. The 3 common scenarios artists often face are:
1. Indefiniteness in Completion: It's difficult to determine when a piece is truly finished. While an artwork might seem done, there's always room for more details or adjustments.
2. Time Constraints and Procrastination: Projects are often put on hold due to daily life pressures, leading to lost motivation to revisit them later.
3. Battling Expectations: External feedback and internal expectations can sway an artist's perception of their work. Over time, they might feel disconnected from the original vision.

I drew parallels from my experience in the software development industry, a solution that has worked with me is adopting a defined process:
Clearly Define Goals with Definition of Done: Set a clear vision of what you want the art to convey. Once that's achieved, consider the artwork completed.
Plan & Describe Your Work: Break down the artwork, estimate the time required, and prioritize tasks. This way you understand holistically what's needed to complete your art.
Traverse Outside Influence: Use a tool like the RACI matrix to define roles in the creation process, ensuring feedback is received from the right channels and doesn’t distract from the original vision.
Manage Personal Expectations: Set achievable goals and focus on individual growth rather than comparing with others. Documenting personal successes and understanding the evolution of one’s work can build a healthier relationship with the creation process.
Minimize Surprises: Declutter workspaces and research to understand the materials needed. Embrace your mistakes, learn from mishaps, understanding that they form part of the growth journey..
