LEADIN:
It's a beauty pageant with a difference.
These women glide down the catwalk to impress the judges rather than walk as they all use wheelchairs.
STORYLINE:
These beauties are all hoping to receive the winner's sash.
Backstage at the Miss Colours beauty pageant, the finalists, chosen from more than 50 applicants, are helped to dress and apply their make up.
Many wear clothing by the leading Hungarian designer Katti Zoob.
Pageant organiser Tibor Kazany says they want to highlight how attractive women in wheelchairs are.
"Our main goal was to show that women in wheelchairs are just as healthy and beautiful as those walking around on two legs."
The women perform short routines on the catwalk - often to rapturous applause.
According to Kazany the pageant is the first in Hungary.
He is a wheelchair user himself following a road accident several years ago. He says he got the idea for the pageant from his American business partners.
In the U.S., the first Ms. Wheelchair America pageant was held in 1973.
Kazany says women who use wheelchairs should be treated the same as those who can use their legs.
"They can be active in everyday life, just like anybody. They can work, they can be mothers, they can run a business, they can drive a car, and they can sport. I would say that these women are equal members of the society."
The pageant winner, Katalin Eszter Varga, was chosen by a jury from among the eight finalists
Varga, a 26-year-old perfume saleswoman, has been using a wheelchair for four years.
She says the way someone looks counts for a great deal.
