Teaching Online: 6 Things not to Worry About when Starting Out as an Independent Teacher

This video gives you six things not to worry about when starting out as an online teacher. Here's the summary:

1. Flash website: you don't need a flashy website. In fact, you never need one. Create a website that converts not one that makes people browse and leave. I recommend using the following to build your site:

3: Buying expensive equipment: what you have now is most likely good enough to get started. When you've got some experience making videos and teaching online, you'll have a better idea of what you need. Here's what I recommend: http://www.teachingeslonline.com/kit.

4: Being everywhere: don't try and be on every social platform. Choose one or two platforms and go all in. You can also do this without being on social media.

5: Offering various products and services: again, focus on offering a service to begin with and build a product over time. This depends on your goals and current situation. If you need to bring in an income now, offer a service. If you want to build over time and have something that scales, create an online course.

6: Having the perfect niche: being too specific in the beginning limits your options and doesn't allow you to learn what works. Stand out by telling people how you can help them. Put your personality out there so that you connect with those who like you. Let your niche evolve over time.
