Trains at Bletchley, WCML | 23/04/19

A few busy scenes at Bletchley station on the West Coast Mainline. Filmed on two separate occasions on April 23rd and 25th. My original plan was catch the first Vivarail class 230 in passenger use on the 23rd. Which I did. But in doing so, I didn't get quite enough footage. So when I returned to Bletchley 2 days later on the 25th I allowed a bit of extra time to get some more footage.
Unfortunately gone are the days where I'd be left alone at train stations now. All stations south of Milton Keynes now have security on the platforms who are there to prevent suicides, but also seem to have never heard of rail enthusiasts. As well as security, the fences have been put up to stop people accessing the fast line platforms which makes it increasingly difficult to film the express services.
Despite the challenges, managed to get some good footage, lots of freights as well as a royal mail service and of course the brand new "upcycled" class 230 D-Train.

Lots of freights and lots of pendolino's. Basically sums up the WCML.

Did you know? Random fact for you, the blue lights on the side of the royal mail 325's. Did you ever know what they are for? They are to tell the loaders on the outside that the contents inside that particular coach have moved during the journey so they should open it with caution.
