Описание: Leatherback sea turtles are the largest turtles, uniquely having a leathery, shell-less back, making them masters of deep diving (over 1,000m) and cold-water survival, thanks to fat layers and heat exchange. They are incredibly migratory, spanning vast oceans, feeding mainly on jellyfish, and are known for their immense size (up to 2m, 900kg) and ancient lineage. Despite their global range, populations are critically threatened by fishing gear, egg collection, and habitat loss, leading to critically endangered status in some regions.
