STORYLINE:
Wet weather in Beijing on Thursday didn't dampen the enthusiasm of shoppers keen to get their hands on Olympic souvenirs.
The souvenir shop at the Olympic Green is doing great business - dealing out mementos and Olympic themed goods.
This "Superstore" carries over 10,000 different items.
The management estimated they had over 50,000 visitors on Thursday.
Local shoppers have shown a strong demand for the five Olympic mascots or "Fuwa" which are a particular hit with children.
Traditional items like clothing, hats and pins have also proved popular.
"You know, you wear something, you get a little something. They'll say 'where did you get that?' You say, well, I went to China. Had a great time," Albert Clark, a tourist from Mississippi, told AP Television.
Other items on sale include models of the various Olympic venues like the Bird's Nest and Watercube.
12 year old Cong Rong from the north eastern Chinese coastal city of Dalian convinced her mother to buy her an Olympic themed watch.
"I really think these watches are a great buy. They are beautifully designed," said Tan Weihong.
Items range in price from five RMB (just over one US dollar) through to commemorative vases priced at RMB 49,800 ($7,325 US dollars).
