As a Big Tech insider, I have a unique view into the reality of foreign skilled labor in America, specifically within engineering/tech. This includes industry and academics, working alongside H1B Visa holders/candidates for many years (from grad school to big tech).
Many advocate blindly for or against H1B visas/foreign skilled workers. My goal is to unbox the reality of the situation.
For the sake of full disclosure, I firmly believe we should prioritize US Citizens first, as nearly all countries on the planet prioritize theirs. Assuming that is happening (which it is not at present), filling gaps with foreign skilled labor is well justified.
