U.S. officials say he used AI-generated identities to build fake online relationships and convince victims to send money and valuables. Kumi was arrested in Ghana on December 11, 2025, and is charged with wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering offences that carry up to 20 years in prison. The FBI worked with multiple Ghanaian agencies to investigate the case.
