I wrote this song with the mindset of growing up in a small rural town of West Virginia that’s past its prime. Seeing all these dilapidated building and empty store fronts that used to be full of life and business on our Main Streets is something that echos throughout the region. Though there are attempts of revitalizing local businesses, it seems that some people would rather support corporate stores while complaining of “how things used to be” at the same time.
