If your Mitsubishi Outlander says “DPF System Service Required” or “Check DPF System”, it means that there is a problem with the diesel particle filter and your car believes that it can’t be passively regenerated now and needs proper inspection and professional regen cycle. Also, you will most likely need oil change in your car since the oil may and should be diluted with diesel fuel now.
In this video, I will explain to you why so many Mitsubishi owners have this problem with diesel engines in their cars and what you should do if you ever see this warning in your vehicle. Unfortunately, there is no proper DIY solution to this, but, at least, you will learn about the nature of this problem and can prevent it from happening.
