Karpatka: Polish Cream Puff Cake
Have you ever tried karpatka? It's a light, delicious, summery cake straight from Poland. Between the simple cake layers and rich, creamy homemade frosting, topped off with your favorite jam, this cake is a real show-stopper!
Ingredients
For the cake:
1 stick butter
1 cup water
1½ cups flour
5 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
For the frosting:
1 x vanilla pudding package (~ 3½ oz)
⅓ cup sugar
3 cups milk
1¾ sticks butter, softened
For the topping:
⅓ cup jam (strawberry or raspberry)
powdered sugar
Bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes.
