No Co-Driver, No Practice: Blind Rally Adventure in Richard Burns Rally

This video documents a true leap into the deep end: my first online rally in Richard Burns Rally, run through Rally Sim Fans, in the event known as Klappjakten 2023. Unlike a typical rally with pacenotes and a talking co-driver to keep you on the road, this one is a “blind rally,” where co-drivers are not allowed. I take that concept literally and skip any meaningful practice, diving into each stage with no notes and no prior recon. It is just the car, the road, and my on the fly reactions.
The structure is straightforward but unforgiving: four stages, with service between each. That means every mistake has consequences, and any damage you carry out of a stage has to be managed and repaired under pressure before heading back out. Without a co-driver calling corners, every crest, braking zone, and junction becomes a test of instinct and adaptation. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it really doesn’t.
As a bit of extra fun, the event name itself adds to the chaos. Depending on which language you look at, “Klappjakten” can be interpreted as “folding jackets” in Luxembourgish or “the clap hunt” in Swedish, neither of which inspires much confidence but both of which feel oddly appropriate for a rally you head into almost completely unprepared. The rally remains open for new participants until 2025‑12‑24 19:13, so if you feel like testing yourself in the same blind format, you can still jump in and compare runs. Whether this first blind online outing ends in glory, survival, or a very broken car, it makes for a tense and entertaining run, and a fitting introduction to just how intense RBR online rallies can be.
