Thieves on the Prowl: Villas and Flats Targeted in Porvorim, Mapusa and Tivim

Описание: A spate of burglary incidents has put parts of North Goa on alert, with thieves targeting residential premises in Porvorim, Mapusa, and Tivim over the past few days.

In Porvorim, thieves attempted to break into a villa at Socorro Zoswaddo. Clarifying the incident, the Porvorim Police Inspector said the villa owner is currently in Mumbai and a formal complaint is yet to be filed. “No valuables were stolen and it appears to be an attempted housebreaking,” the PI said, adding that police carried out a site inspection after being alerted.

Meanwhile, Mapusa police reported two robbery cases at Prudential Colony, Peddem, on January 23, in which gold and silver ornaments worth around ₹10 lakh were stolen.

Adding to the unease, another theft was reported on Monday at Tivim Madel, where two flats were targeted. Police teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving information and have begun collecting evidence.
