Ashton Denzel Jones, an esteemed American lyric baritone, choral conductor, organist, and pianist, proudly hails from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has recently returned to Texas Southern University as the new choral conductor and choir director. Among his recent accolades is a captivating performance as a chorus member in Terrance Blanchard's opera, 'Champion,' showcased at the esteemed Lyric Opera of Chicago.
Jones' remarkable talent has graced renowned stages worldwide, including the Texas Southern University Opera in Houston, the Manhattan School of Music Opera in New York, Cimarron Opera Company in Oklahoma City, and the Varna Opera Academy in Bulgaria. Growing up in the Church of God in Christ, he currently serves as an Assistant Director of the COGIC Chorale, an a cappella choir. He has also made notable solo appearances with the Tulsa Signature Symphony, the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.
Ashton is on track to complete his Doctor of Musical Arts in May 2025 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music.
