no chance of; …is definitely not possible
〜わけがない/ 〜はずがない
っこないis used when you want to strongly deny something, such as "it will never happen". It is also used when you want to say "absolutely impossible" in connection with the potential form of a verb. This sentence pattern is normally used in casual situations. Often used together with~なんて・~なんか.
わけがない/ 〜はずがない VS っこない
わけがない andはずがないandっこない are used when you strongly deny something. However, while わけがない andはずがない can be used in both formal and informal situation, っこない is not used in formal situations, and is mainly used in intimate relationships.
It cannot be used with verbs that have a single syllable in front of the ますform (e.g., します, みます, きます, etc.).
✖彼かれがそんなことしっこないよ。
〇彼がそんなことするわけがないよ。
〇彼がそんなことするはずがないよ。
There's no way he'd do that.
わけがない andはずがないcan be used with adjectives or nouns but っこない can only be used with verbs.
✖試験が簡単っこない。
〇試験が簡単なわけがない。
〇試験が簡単なはずがない。
There is no way that the exams are easy.
わけがない andはずがないcan be used with verb negative form but っこない cannot be used for verb negative form.
✖日本語がわからないっこない。
〇日本語がわからないはずはない。
〇日本語がわからないわけはない。
There is no way that one can’t understand Japanese.
宝くじなんか買っても当たりっこないよ。
There is no way to win a lottery even if you buy it.
今日は雨が降っている上に、風も強いからサッカーなんてできっこない。
