The U.S. committed a war crime against Venezuela. Multiple U.S. officials now revealing that first boat strike conducted back in September was done by a military aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane.
It reportedly hid any visible weapons, then when it was ready to strike, shot them out of a hidden launch tube. Even IF we take Trump’s word for it that the U.S. is in an armed conflict with drug cartels, which multiple law experts have condemned… faking your civilian status to launch an offensive attack with the explicit intent to kill or maim is known as “perfidy” under international law, and it is a war crime.
It doesn’t stop there. 9 people died in that initial strike, but 2 survived and were found floating on a piece of wreckage roughly the size of a dining room table. Under international law, this is defined as being “shipwrecked” and it means they were out of the fight.
However, the U.S. fired another strike – killing both people after deciding they didn’t meet “shipwrecked” status because it was unclear if there were drugs beneath the wreckage, if they might call in help, or if they’d surrender.
The U.S. did say it saw them “waving” at the plane but couldn’t decide if that meant they were trying to surrender… so they just took them out anyway.
