Описание: Fidel Castro was a polarizing revolutionary leader, both respected and loved in his native Cuba and reviled by many who fled it. He was bestowed with various global honors, and his followers see him as a hero of socialism who led Cuba away from the clutches of the United States. During five decades of leadership, he managed to improve Cuba's education and healthcare system. Through his publications, he had a wide impact on the politics of other Latin American leaders and international political organizations. But, self-exiled Cubans blamed Castro for the island country's flagging economy, and for limiting personal freedoms under his rule. Joining the debate on Castro's lasting legacy are Yang Zhimin from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Maricruz Magowan who is vice president of the National Economists Club in Washington DC.
