Imperium: Flying The Nero UL By Diamond Kites | Sky Rider Limited

Описание: This kite might be magic, but it is unclear if it will be used for good or evil. Welcome back to Sky Rider Limited. This week we have a new kite to explore. Everyone extend a warm welcome to the Diamond Kites Nero UL.

The Nero is something of a thoroughbred, framed in exotic spars, featuring aggressive geometry, the Nero appears as the untouchable bleeding edge of performance. It has pedigree too. The Nero’s CV is full of high-level performances across Europe and the world in the hands of some of the best pilots. Yet for all that the kite feels like it’s mocking me at times. I would hardly call the Nero a warm or inviting platform. The Nero is a brutalist animal which demands the best from its pilots. When you connect with it, and at first it will only be fleeting, you will get glimpses of what could be possible. So, you stick with it, fight for a stronger bond, suffer through the broken rods and bruised egos until you connect. Until you reach Imperium.

For those curious about the specifics, the Nero UL is framed with an Aerostuff Blue leading edge, Aerostuff Gold S lower spreaders, P90 or similar upper spreader and a 3pt 40” spine. The kite is finished with a corded center t, spec'd for R-Sky yo-yo stops but in my case those have been swapped for a more common option and features a 22 gram tail weight which I would call stout but doesn't feel over powering in this kite. Personally the framing presents a challenge in its own ways I have a bit of a history of destruction where Aerostuff Blue is concerned. learning to be the appropriate blend of firm but gentle is going to take time but the possibilities the Nero holds are so intriguing that I'm willing to break a few spars in the pursuit. Until then we will just have to settle for the dreams. Enjoy.
