Prohibitory orders have been imposed across Mangaluru city from May 3 to May 6 after the murder of Hindutva activist Suhas Shetty. The police enforced the restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita to prevent unrest. Shetty, a known rowdy sheeter in his 30s with multiple cases against him, was killed by unidentified attackers in Bajpe. Authorities are investigating the premeditated killing, and a manhunt is underway.
