ASCO-SIO 2024 Guideline Update: Integrative Strategies
Based on the latest American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO) guidelines, we review which integrative practices are backed by research:
Exercise (Aerobic & Resistance)
CBT and Mindfulness-Based Programs
Qigong and Tai Chi (During treatment)
Yoga, Acupressure, and Moxibustion (After treatment)
American Ginseng and a short course of corticosteroids may be helpful.
Medications to avoid: Wakefulness agents, anti-depressants, and psycho-stimulants are generally NOT recommended as first-line treatments for CRF.
