BETRAYED on the BAY: Omega DELAYED Menhaden Study HB19 w/ VA House in Complicit Vote

Описание: After YEARS of fighting and work, concerned citizens, scientists, organizations, and others had FINALLY solidified the scientific framework for a MENHADEN study in the Chesapeake Bay to determine if these vital fish are being overfished and depleted.

Unfortunately, at the last minute, it appears that OMEGA PROTEIN successfully lobbied the Virginia House Studies Subcommittee to quietly DELAY HB19 - the Bill set FUND the Menhaden Study - yet again, this time until 2025.

After YEARS of Omega and our representatives claiming that they support science-based fisheries/resource management - and after YEARS of assurances that Omega Protein is not overfishing Menhaden in the Chesapeake - and DESPITE NUMEROUS scientific and public-reported indicators of overfishing - Omega successfully lobbied VA House representatives to delay this crucial study.
