Maryland schools plan overhaul of school readiness programs to meet growing demand

Описание: Plans are underway in Montgomery County to alter the way the school system offers academic and career readiness programs.

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) said many of these programs are in high demand. For example, 1,000 students applied for the Countywide International Baccalaureate program at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, and there are only 125 seats.

According to MCPS, the majority of students enrolled come from five other high schools across the county, and it takes 24 buses to transport participating students.
