The dissolved board of South African Tourism says it's exploring various options, including the legal route, following the Tourism Minister's decision to dissolve the board.
Board members say they were surprised by the minister's decision, after she cited an irregular meeting held on the 1st of August, which they say never happened.
The board says it merely passed a resolution by round robin via electronic communication.
Tourism Minister Patricia De Lille dissolved the board with immediate effect on Wednesday, 20 August 2025.
She stated that it failed to address important issues about the legality of the procedure followed by the board when it convened a special board meeting on the 1st of August 2025, at which she says an unlawful resolution was taken.
