In today’s video, we start our day at home by showing our lovely dogs playing happily in the yard. They are full of energy and always excited to run around. Watching them play brings so much joy and positivity to our day. They chase each other, roll on the ground, and wag their tails with excitement. Our dogs are an important part of our family, and we love sharing these sweet and playful moments with you.
After spending some time with our dogs, my mom and I get ready to go to our farm. The journey to the farm is peaceful and refreshing. The fresh air, green surroundings, and calm atmosphere make us feel close to nature. We enjoy walking through the fields and observing the beauty of our village environment.
When we reach the farm, we begin our small farm tour. We show you the plants, trees, and crops growing there. One of the special activities today is plucking hog plums (ambate) from the tree. The hog plums are fresh, green, and slightly sour. We carefully pick them from the branches and collect them in a basket. It is always a satisfying feeling to harvest fruits directly from our own farm.
After collecting the hog plums, we spend some time walking around and checking the plants. Farming teaches us patience, responsibility, and gratitude. Every plant requires care, water, and attention. We feel proud to grow our own fruits and vegetables naturally.
I cut fresh banana leaves from the farm. These banana leaves are used to feed our cow. Feeding the cow is one of our daily farm activities. We bring the banana leaves home and give them to the cow. They happily eat the fresh green leaves. Taking care of animals teaches us kindness and compassion. We make sure our cows are well-fed and comfortable.
Once we finish our farm work, we return home with the hog plums and fresh ingredients. The first thing we do is wash the hog plums thoroughly with clean water. Cleaning fresh produce is very important before cooking. The bright green hog plums look so fresh and healthy after washing.
Later, my mom starts preparing “Mensu Kai” (chili curry). She shares the simple and traditional recipe with us. First, she washes the green chilies properly. Then she cuts them carefully. In a pan, she heats oil and adds mustard seeds. When they start to splutter, she adds curry leaves for flavor. Then she adds the chilies and sauté them gently.

She adds salt, turmeric powder, and a little jaggery and some more masalas to balance the taste. The aroma of the spices fills the kitchen. The chili curry cooks slowly until it becomes soft and flavorful. The combination of spicy, tangy, and slightly sweet flavors makes it very delicious.

Cooking together in the kitchen is a special bonding time for us. My mom explains each step patiently, and I enjoy learning traditional recipes from her. These recipes are simple but full of authentic taste. Homemade food always feels comforting and healthy.
After the cooking is done, we serve the Mensu Kai curry with rice. The fresh hog plums can also be used for chutney or pickle. Eating food made from farm-fresh ingredients gives us great satisfaction. It reminds us of the value of hard work and natural living.
