Mr Herlaar

Math isn't scary, it is a logical problem solving process. I completely understand those who dislike math, but I encourage you to give it another go. When I was growing up, if you knew the answer quickly, you were 'smart'. If you could do the work in your head, you were 'smart'. It is my opinion that math learning is so much more than that. Thinking takes time, we should allow our learners the time and space to think, to try, to learn.

I have been teaching and tutoring mathematics for almost ten years and I can attest that learning and growth is possible, but it can be uncomfortable, difficult, and frustrating. We live in a world of instant gratification, but math is not a discipline that provides you with that. Knowing the answer is not the important part, understanding how to get the answer is where the reward is, push yourself out of your comfort zone. This channel will work through British Columbia Curriculum from Grade 9 to Calculus 12. I hope you get what you need from it!
