Space Weather
This live-stream pulls directly from primary sources and updates near-real time, often to the minute. From GOES we show X-ray flux, SUVI UV, and CCOR coronagraphs. SDO images arrive 20–30 min after acquisition; we convert Level 1 to L1.5 on a 12-min or less cadence and ingest them into SURYA, the NASA/IBM heliospheric model (https://arxiv.org/abs/2508.14112).
We operate the compute-intensive SURYA and image pipelines ourselves. Because some SDO products are only ‘definitive’ weeks–months later, we use surrogate inputs in real time, which can slightly reduce SURYA accuracy. This is the first public real-time stream of its kind.
We also process solar-wind and ground magnetometers in real-time and run ML models (plus OVATION) for geomagnetic/auroral forecasts supporting power-grid operations. We relay power grid anomaly reports directly from grid control centers in real-time. This service provides a similar grade of data used by professional forecasters. Our services are 36 years old.
