Garifuna Ancestral Homeland YURUMEIN, the Garifuna name of St. Vincent remains a deeply revered ancestral homeland of the Garifuna people, despite their forced exile over 200 years ago. While the British expelled them from the island, Garifuna communities have maintained an unbroken spiritual and emotional connection to Yurumein. Many Garifuna make pilgrimages to St. Vincent, especially to the island of Balliceaux, where the thousands of their ancestors perished . This is a channel to enlighten and inform the public about the wide array of herbs and medicinal plants found on the island of St.Vincent and the Grenadines/Yurumein AKA Vincy.
