What is the goal of development? How can I improve my skills and become a better tennis player? This is the question every club player in America asked me about there play. I have found that tennis is unclear on the process of development and steps of development to get better as a tennis player. Tennis is not unclear of defining a level of play based on certain skills. We seem to let people know by the rating chart the USTA has to define a level of play. I am trying to give people a method to enhance there skills and become a better player. I think we have a chance with a self evaluation of skills and a practice plan and consistent workload. If players can do certain exercises and drills and continue to test their own abilities they will get better. I believe that education is a process and not a destination. I also believe that with a systematic method that covers all areas of development from conditioning to match play the chances of success are very good. Just like a diet
