First Light Fusion
We are First Light Fusion - the UK’s only inertial fusion company. Our mission is to accelerate the development of key technology and partnerships to realise the commercialisation of fusion energy.
The company was spun-out of the University of Oxford in 2011 and our approach focuses on reducing the complexity and power requirements of fusion power plants by using advanced target design.
First Light's concept approach FLARE is a simpler, faster, partnership-led pathway to commercial fusion energy.
