R1 & Mr.S

Hi, I’m Mr. S, a programmer in Belgium. This is R1, my self-built "Instrument Bot".

R1 might look a bit "unorthodox;" it's the result of me cobbling together a Raspberry Pi, a toy rover, some salvaged parts, and countless hours of experimentation. It looks rough, but it sings (sometimes off-key). I love it just as it is.

Our seemingly playful, yet sincere experiment:【The Unlikely Duo】My imperfect voice dueting with R1's mechanical voice. We perform Chinese classic pop songs which I translate into English. The form might be unusual, but the kernel is serious (I hope).

【Emotional Bridge】Having moved from China to Belgium at 24, I know that besides the cultural differences, our core human feelings about love, life, and sincerity are universal. Our duets are our way of connecting those shared human values through music.

This is a channel about finding beauty in imperfection and connecting hearts through technology and melody.
