Traditional Bengali cuisine cherishes all the 5 different tastes that we experience while eating - Bitter, Sweet, Salty, Sour and Spice. Our ancestors discovered a food menu that addressed all of these - from appetizers ( like shutko and neem begun bhaja) that were primarily bitter to desserts that were sweet ( chatni and doi -mishti).
