I believe Clinical Engineering is grounded in three core principles:
1. We are a skilled trade, built on mentorship.
Once you enter a skilled trade, you inherit an obligation to share knowledge, elevate others, and pass on what was given to you. Mentorship is not optional, it’s part of our identity.
2. We are a unified community.
I choose to support everyone equally. Our field grows stronger when we stand together, and I will not support special interest groups that divide or exclude parts of our community.
3. We are global healthcare advocates.
The work we do impacts far more than the facilities we serve. Our actions can improve healthcare for countless people around the world (not just in the United States) and we should always operate with that broader mission in mind.
